These photographs were taken at Hunstanton in Norfolk, on the east coast of England. Hunstanton’s west-facing beaches make it a fantastic location for photographing the sun setting over the water of the The Wash, the largest estuary in the UK. The cliffs at Old Hunstanton offer a glimpse into Norfolk’s geological past, with layers of orange, red and white sedimentary rocks. These layers represent different deposits made towards the end of the Early Cretaceous and the onset of the Late Cretaceous period, 108–99 million years ago.
